The practice offers an annual review for the management of diabetes. Some patients may still require to attend the hospital clinic.
Monitoring and advice on the management of asthma initially is carried out by Practice Nurse Claire.
All doctors are qualified to give advice on family planning and all forms of contraception. We do NOT fit IUCD. If you are interested ask the doctor regarding Implanon.
It is an important screening test for all women between 25 and 65 which can be done by a practice nurse or doctor. Northampton Screening Office automatically call or recall women as follows:
- 25 - First invitation
- 25-49 Three yearly
- 50-64 Five yearly
- 65+ Only those who have not been screened since age 50, or have had recent abnormal tests.
If you think that you may have missed a recall then please contact the practice nurse. When ringing for a cervical smear please telephone between 11.00am and 4.00pm where possible.
We are able to offer minor surgical procedures in the practice. These include treatments for warts, verrucas and removal of some small lumps and bumps. Please see one of the doctors to discuss your particular problem.
If you are holidaying abroad please ask for a Travel Vaccination Questionnaire form from reception, for each member of the family. The practice nurse will then check and inform you of the vaccinations required according to recommended schedules. Please allow 6—8 weeks before the date of travel. We also advise that all patients are adequately immunised against tetanus and recommend that you should have had a tetanus booster within the last 10 years or had “5” for life.
These are taken by our Health Care Assistant, offering appointments Monday to Thursday from 08.30 hrs.
All blood tests are taken in the morning, as they are then sent to the hospital lab the same day.
