What This Notice Is About
We are writing to inform you about a comprehensive review of immunology test results from our practice. This review covers all immunology tests conducted between 23 July 2023 and 31 March 2025 due to a technical issue with the laboratory systems during this period.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this issue may have caused.
What We Are Doing
Immunology have prepared a detailed report of all immunology results from the affected period and are systematically reviewing them to ensure no important findings were missed. The results have been organised into the following categories based on clinical priority:
High Priority:
- Abnormal results for high-risk tests that require immediate attention
- Abnormal results for high-risk tests that have already been reviewed
- Abnormal coeliac screening results
Standard Priority:
- All other low-risk results
- Results for patients who are now deceased
Special Arrangements for Coeliac Disease Screening
If your coeliac screening showed abnormal results, you will automatically receive a fast-track referral to the Gastroenterology Department at Northampton General Hospital (NGH). You do not need a separate referral from your GP for this appointment.
Timeline for Processing Results
The processing and uploading of these historic results to our clinical systems will take place between:
- Start date: Week commencing 8th September 2025
- End date: Week commencing 19th January 2026
What You Need to Do
Most patients do not need to take any action. We will contact you directly if:
- Any of your results require follow-up action
- You need additional tests or appointments
- We need to discuss your results with you
